Meet Dr. Joanne Block Rief
Dentist in Owings Mills, MD, Dr. Joanne Block Rief has practiced dentistry since 1986. She is a graduate of the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland. She also received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Rhode Island. Dr. Rief has been trained in cosmetic and neuromuscular dentistry at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. She is also certified in Invisalign, invisible aligners that move teeth. Her restorative practice provides services which include filling replacement with non-metal alternatives, to a full range of cosmetic treatments. Cosmetic procedures include: cosmetic recontouring, tooth whitening, laser dentistry, cosmetic bonding, porcelain veneers, implant dentistry, and non-metal crowns and bridges. Dr. Rief can also converse with patients who speak Spanish.
Dr. Rief, the Owings Mills MD Dentist, has been recognized by her peers as a fellow of The Pierre Fauchard Academy and the International College of Dentists. As part of the International College of Dentists, Dr. Rief teaches Ethics to third-year dental students at The University of Maryland. She is also a member of the Dean’s Faculty at the University of Maryland Dental School where she has mentored dental students at The Access Carroll Dental Clinic. Dr. Rief was voted by her peers as Baltimore’s Top Dentist in 2013 and 2014, and is the dental adviser for 2015. She is a member of the ADA, MSDA, and the Owings Mills, Maimonides, and Metropolitan Study Clubs. Dr. Rief is also a member, program chair, and 2014-2015 and 2016-2017 president of the Baltimore County Dental Society. She has also traveled to the Galapagos Islands to perform dental missionary work, and has devoted time to providing free dentistry to patients at numerous Mission of Mercy projects around the state.

Meet the Team
Michele
Michele, our office manager, has 18 years of dental expertise and has been with Dr. Rief at Crossroads Dental Arts for 12 years. She is computer savvy and is truly the dental concierge of our office, making patients feel at home when they are in our office and presenting treatment plans to patients. Michele has attended many practice management seminars including prestigious Las Vegas Institute. She enjoys reading, watching the Ravens and Orioles, theater and spending time with her family.
Melissa
Melissa is our clinical assistant. She has 9 years of dental experience and is certified in Expanded Functions as well as Oral Radiology. She loves to make people feel at home and comfortable. She will even hold your hand during a procedure! She enjoys listening to music, shopping, and spending time with friends, family, and pets.
Patty
Patty received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Maryland in 1987. She has been practicing full time ever since and still absolutely loves what she does. Patty has been a valuable team member at Crossroads Dental Arts since January 2014. She is committed to patient comfort and is now certified to administer local anesthesia. She enjoys advancing the dental knowledge of her patients and helping to improve their overall health. She loves participating in triathlons, and spending time with her husband, family and two vizsla puppies.
Nicole
Nicole received her Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2003 from Baltimore City Community College. Before dental hygiene school, Nicole worked as a dental assistant for six years in Germany, where she grew up. She enjoys the practice of dental hygiene and wants to provide every patient with a compassionate, satisfying dental experience that improves their overall health. Nicole loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking, biking, and kayaking.
Danyelle
Danyelle graduated from Fortis Institute in 2010 and has over eight years of experience as a dental assistant and patient care coordinator. She loves to make people feel welcome in our office with her winning personality. She has been a team member at Crossroads Dental Arts for four years. Danyelle spends her free time with family, traveling, and reading, and she loves meeting new people.
Joanny
Joanny is from Fort Worth, TX, where she took her first step into the dental field as a front desk receptionist. There, she learned many aspects of dentistry from general dentistry to oral surgery. She is currently expanding her knowledge within the dental industry at Crossroads Dental Arts. She enjoys listening to music and spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Kenai.
Olga
Olga graduated valedictorian with a degree in Dental Hygiene from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2005. Before her dental hygiene career, Olga received master’s degrees in biology and chemistry, and taught high school chemistry. She is passionate about educating her patients and improving their oral and overall health. She recently moved from Indiana and enjoys spending time outdoors with her family.
Diane
Diane received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from University of Maryland in 2005. She has been in the dental field for over 24 years, beginning as a dental assistant and transitioning to an orthodontic assistant. Diane’s enthusiasm for dentistry and pride for helping our patients achieve their best oral health makes her an invaluable member of our team. She recently moved to Reisterstown from the Eastern Shore and lives with her husband, Rob, and their three children.
